	Originally known as Warren's Tavern, the property was a stagecoach stop along the New York-Albany Post Road, now Route 9 in Garrison, New York, and catered to those journeying between Albany and New York City. The tavern survived until travelers began to favor the steamboats on the Hudson River rather than bumpy stagecoaches on dusty roads.
